Onion bhajjis consist of chopped onions incorporated into a dough made from rice and gram flour, spices, and sometimes herbs, then fried until golden. Often eaten as starters onion bhajjis may be served with a side of salad and slice of lemon, or with mango chutney. Chilli bhajji which is more popular in South India contains red chili powder, turmeric powder and rice powder.
